Aviation products such as Jet A1, Avgas and Avtur present particularly stringent design and construction requirements for bunded containment tanks. But LWE's bunded fuel storage tanks for the aviation sector are designed specifically for these demanding applications, with tanks available to suit all ranges of capacities: from the very large down to the small flying/gliding club or private airfield.

Bunded tanks for aviation use can also be supplied to client bespoke reqirements.

All bunded tanks are manufactured at LWE's factory in Herefordshire and the critical stainless steel welding is all carried out and monitored in-house. 

The inner tank must be stainless steel 316 and purity of materials must be preserved throughout the manufacturing process. LWE have extensive experience of aviation applications and LWE aviation fuel storage tanks are operating at some of the largest airfields in the world.

Small Supervault tanks, with a four hour fire certificate, are particularly suitable for locating near to runways. On larger airfields, bowsers service the aircraft from the bulk storage tanks.

LWE bunded tanks are also being used on airfields for containment of anti-freeeze, in one application storing over 1million litres of ethylene glycol.
